Before coming to Latino USA, Leda Hartman worked as an editor at two nationally broadcast public radio global affairs programs, Latitudes and the World Vision Report. She has also been a contributing reporter to many other national programs. Leda has received more than a dozen national and regional awards, most recently the Mimi Award for exceptional editing from the Ochberg Society for Trauma Journalism. Leda considers herself a “Jewyorican,” growing up in New York as the daughter of a Jewish father and a Puerto Rican mother. She feels most Latina when she’s dancing or running late. But it was her father, not her mother, who danced and ran late, and that taught her to always question stereotypes.
